This document starts with Thermal power plant's profitability issue, focuses on strategies to reduce raw material cost, and suggests analyzing daily operation cost of Thermal power plant. This document investigates operation cost using tools such as index analysis, cost differential analysis, and historical data comparison analysis, with the consideration of the uniqueness of electricity production, which fuel cost is the majority of the raw material cost, proposes strategies that combine both overall analysis as well as focused analysis to derive applicable instructions to reduce operation cost. The overall analysis calculates daily operation cost and daily operation index to project a complete view of the operation, using macro cost changes to help decision making in operation management, especially provides support to future plan management. The focused analysis focuses on particulars of the production process, analyzes data to find the most optimal machine operation baseline, and uses cost differential analysis to provide guidance to operator, to reduce operation cost from the basics. Furthermore, the document uses Counter-balance method, calculates same day coal consumption, combines with fuel cost, deduces the current-day most optimal fuel cost and the actual fuel cost, compare these two numbers (optimal cost vs. actual cost) to increase operation efficiency. Finally, this document illustrates daily operation cost analysis processes and steps, introduces ways to use the untraditional Based business development tool to start fuel management, equipment management, heating support management system, and establishes daily operation cost analysis model. This document also utilizes knowledge management ideology, brings scientific material used in the system, such as experiment result and optimal operation index into boundary of knowledge management.
