Study On Model Selection Of YL Aluminum Strip Processing Project Management

As present, China is the largest producer and consumer of aluminum in the world. China's aluminum output in 2009 ranked first in the world with the capacity of 16.5 million tons. At the same time, aluminum processing project construction in China has entered a period of great development. How to construct those projects with minimal cost, shortest cycle, and most effective management model is the task need to be studied and explored, and will be of significance to the development of aluminum industry. Aluminum strip processing is one of the most important projects in aluminum processing. Consequently, it is critical to select an appropriate management model for successful implementation of project.Due to lack of effective quantitative analysis method, model selection of project management is usually subjectively judged. This paper, expatiating SMARTS analysis, SWOT analysis, PCTS analysis and force field analysis, provides a reference for YL aluminum strip processing project management model selection. Those methods survey relevant factors influencing the management model selection of YL aluminum strip processing project from various aspects, and then provide scientific basis for that selection. The result shows the most appropriate management model for aluminum strip processing project is DBB model, which is the most mature model in project management. Firstly, managers are familiar with the system of this model. In addition, aluminum processing enterprises have controls on design requirements by choosing project planner, designers and engineers freely. At the same time, it is possible to use standard contract texts that each party knows well. Therefore, it is beneficial to contract management, risk management and investment management.
