Research On Coordinated Development Between Jiangsu Services And Manufacturing In The Tansition Of Industrial Structure

Service industry's development is not only the result but also the reason of the deepening of specialization. Since 1980s, the global industrial structure has transferred to service economy from industrial economy. The Service industry's proportion of the added value in GDP and the proportion of employment to the whole employment have been rising. Producer Service industry has already become a new engine of economic growth. We must treat with the relationship of service industry and manufacturing first so as to promote the transition of Jiangsu industrial structure successfully.The relationship of service industry and manufacturing is not only exogenous but also endogenous. The relationship between consumer services and manufacturing is exogenous. The development of manufacturing brings economic progress and promotion of standard of living which cause increasing of demand for services, so promote consumer services indirectly. Consumer services'development can meet people's demand which can bring accumulation of human capital. The relationship between producer services and manufacturing is endogenous. Because producer services appeared after it separated from service department of manufacturing. As advanced productive factor which is mid devotion, producer services can improve production efficiency and enhance core competitiveness. Manufacturing's development depends on the demand from producer services greatly. Manufacturing will lose a huge market without producer services.The relationship of service industry and manufacturing is a dynamic process. It is different in different periods. It can fell into three successive phases. In the pre- industrialization and the initial stage of industrialization, the relationship between services and manufacturing is loose specialization when consumer services compose a majority of services. And the social division of labor system was very simple. In the period of industrialization, with the deepening and extending of specialization, producer services grow rapidly which make them bidirectional interact. In service economy society, services and manufacturing inosculate gradually. The relation becomes tighter then before. The evolvement mechanism of relation is deepening and extending of social division of labor. The introductory first chapter points out the key research problem, brings up the research route, analytical frame, and research methods, innovation and deficiency. The second chapter is talks about the theories related to services, analyzes the relationship between services and manufacturing. Chapter 4 is empirical part which focuses on analyzing interactive effects and relevance between Jiangsu service industry and manufacturing. It also comes up the problem and policy, and gives some possible solution. The fifth chapter is conclusion. It summarizes the whole paper.
