Research On The Application Of ERP System In Small-size Manufacturing Enterprises

The irresistible trend of globalization and informationization brings not only the new driving force but also serious threat. To improve competitive advantage, many manufacturing enterprises at home are adopting advanced information techniques as an important way to increase management level. ERP system, which includes advanced management method and information techniques, and also integrates enterprise resources together effectively, has become the key point in promoting informationization in manufacturing enterprises.Small-size manufacturing enterprises play an important role in GDP, and are essential force for economic development. To survive from the fierce competition, it is imperative for them to adopt ERP. However, the complexity of ERP, as well as lack of scientific choice and methodology as guidance, leads to few successes in ERP. How to better apply the ERP system to improve the economic profits in small-size manufacturing enterprises in China becomes the key issue to be tackled.With small-size manufacturing enterprises as subject, the paper analyzes the current practical situation of applying ERP in China at first, and summarizes major reasons for their failure. Then, the relative theories are introduced. Through the definition of features and scopes of these manufacturing enterprises, the paper analyzes informationization requirement and the application features of ERP and describes the choice and application of ERP at home and abroad. On the basis of learn from advanced methodology and method of ERP at home and abroad, as well as consideration of their own features, the author develops the concrete steps of choosing ERP, and proposes the evaluation model for small-size manufacturing enterprises based on AHP and synthesis method, giving evaluation indexes in detail. The implementation process model is established of small-size manufacturing enterprises. Finally, the practical applications have proved the usability of the research, which provides valuable reference value for the applications in small-size manufacturing enterprises.
