Taihu Lake is an important urban water source in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai， itdoesn’t only supply Suzhou, Wuxi and so on that are round with Taihu Lake with water,but also does to Shanghai and the rest cities around Taihu by the harbors. However, sincethe1990s, with the increasing urbanization of the Taihu lakeside region, there are toomany problems about water, and the phenomena such as the occupation of Taihu waterarea, fence farming and damaging shoreline, are becoming increasing day by day, whichleads to the decreasing of the water quality of Taihu. Moreover, the research demonstratesthat the decline of the water quality of Taihu Lake is mainly due to the increasing ofpollution levels to Taihu, and that the change of water quality of Taihu is same with therivers near to Taihu. Therefore, it becomes more and urgent to standardize thedevelopment of ecologically sensitive areas along the Taihu, so does the protecting of theenvironment of those ecologically sensitive areas. Wish to achieve the harmony ofconstruction of urbanization and the protection of resources and environment.Ecological sensitivity evaluation is considered to the first step to understand correctlyand solve regional environmental problems for the last, it also the basic work of theprotection of regional environment. According to the grade of ecological sensitivitycomprehensive evaluation, eco-sensitive factors and the corresponding level of sensitivityto protect the eco-sensitive factors or areas that are high ecological sensitivity in properly,which can provide the guidance for the development of regional economic. Throughout thecurrent studies about ecological sensitivity, l find that there is ecological sensitivityevaluation about a nation, about a zone, about a province, even about a city or an area.Butthe studies about ecological sensitivity evaluation aren’t mostly applied in TaihuRegion.And there is not ecological sensitivity evaluation about a town by now. In fact, thetown acted as the most basic administration in china plays a key role of participation inperson. So the ecological sensitivity evaluation of the towns should be put on the agenda toguide the environment protection in the ecologically sensitive areas.The contents and results of the research are as the follows:（1）On the basis of the summarization of the current ecological sensitivity theory inhome and abroad，the paper defines the concept of ecologically sensitive areas in the paper,at the same time, shows that the index system of ecologically sensitive evaluation is notperfect and puts the factors of human activities and the system into account of ecologicallysensitive evaluation. So the author chooses the nature, the human being and the socialsystem as the comprehensive sensitivity factors and combines with local reality to build the index system of ecological sensitivity evaluation of the ecologically sensitive areas alongthe Taihu by the means of theoretical analysis and the way of how frequently it happens.Thoroughly analyze and study how to select, how to evaluate, how to classify and how tovalue about the indicators of ecologically sensitive evaluation.(2) the index system of ecological sensitivity evaluation of the ecologically sensitiveareas along the Taihu is made use into Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District in Suzhou, getthe result of the sensitivity level of sensitive factors which is as follows: the water sourceprotection areas and nature reserves are extremely sensitive; the possibility of encounteringwater、droughts and other disasters and historical sites are highly sensitive; importantshoreline protection zone、cultivation in the freshwater and mineral resource developmentare moderately sensitive; the rest indicators are mildly sensitive or insensitive. On abovebasis, find that the ecological sensitivity level of Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District inSuzhou is extremely sensitive.(3) According to the results of the ecological sensitivity evaluation of Guangfu Town,Wuzhong District in Suzhou, In the future, Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District, SuzhouCity needs to combine with spatial heterogeneity of ecosystem services laws to protectdominantly the water source protection areas and nature reserves by establishing along-term management mechanism of ecological-functional zone and carrying out theecological migration and ecological compensation between the governments so as tomaintain the regional ecological security of water supply and the stability of the ecosystem.As for the highly sensitive historical sites, they should be strictly protected by beingapplied for material or non-material protection unit to provide strong material support forthe development of the tourism. However, for important shoreline protection zone that hasthe relatively low level of sensitivity, it can be properly developed under the properprotection. Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District in Suzhou may make good use of thelakeside resource of Taihu by developing eco-tourism to promote the regional economicincreasing. Simultaneously, control properly of the proportion of the cultivation in thefreshwater and more standardizes the development of mineral resources to avoid theresources to unreasonably be made use of to lead to irreversible damage to theenvironment.Finally, the paper gives the prospect about the actual application of this research,whether the ways and means are feasible to Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District in Suzhoudepends on the discussion between the experts and the government.
