Research On Engineering Management In EPCM Chemical Project

The Organic combination of engineering, procurement and constructionmanagement (EPCM) as the main characteristics of the engineering generalcontracting management mode has obvious advantage in shorter period, lower projectcost, improve project quality, less disputes etc. In the international projectconstruction market is generally adopted by the owners, in the domestic engineeringconstruction field and presents the fast growth the tendency. The EPCM contractormanagement mode of the application process, engineering management is in the coreposition of the whole project, to the project schedule limit for a project, quality, cost,safety management is the most important and direct impact.This thesis aims is to study and discuss at how to organize and executeeffectively the EPCM chemical project by maximizing the function of the engineeringteams, to implement effectively the control of engineering deliverables, to completethe key engineering activities as per milestone schedule and to advance the EPCMprojects, enhance and improve inland contractors engineering management level andability in the EPCM chemical project.Based on the former studies of EPCM projects, this thesis makes the use of thesystem analysis and theory/positivism research method, carried on the analysis ofEPCM mode and the important role of chemical projects’ engineering management,firstly analyzes the EPCM chemical projects’ engineering management, theapplication of status quo, existing problems, countermeasures are put forward. Thencombined with the author’s experience in TECHNIP, a France company, in operatinghanas LNG project in design, organization of project engineering and implementationprocess analysis with emphasis, research to improve the EPCM contractor bychemical project engineering management strategies and methods. Finally, this thesisin summarizes application of EPCM mode chemical industry based on the advantagesand disadvantages of project engineering management, puts forward the need tofurther study to solve the problem, put forward outlook to effectively improve theengineering management of domestic chemical project engineering.
