As an important natural tourism resource, climate comfort is an important factor to attract tourists. With the global climate change, tourism affected by extreme weather significantly, and tourist amount is in response to climate change more prominent. Hubei is one of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the middle reach of Yangtze River City Group provinces, which has geographical location advantage, unique natural and cultural tourism resources, its tourism develops rapidly. Especially, the superior subtropical monsoon climate makes it hold the high climate comfort and longer optimum period. Without the too cold winter and much hot summer, it possesses great tourism attraction. People always pursuit the rich tourism experience and leisure lifestyle, so the temporal and spatial differentiation of climate comfort becomes the important reasons that affect tourists’ decision-making. Therefore, it can provide some reference between the tourism meteorological information service and tourism development, and has a certain reference value for tourists to travel around the time arrangement, which is a research on temporal and spatial differentiation of climate comfort degree in Hubei province.Based on the climate comfort evaluation model for reference, the essay study the climate comfort evaluation, temporal and spatial differentiation of climate comfort index, the track focus of climate comfort, the climate comfort index distribution differences in a year and the city classification, etc. It analyses the variation of climate comfort in Hubei province in nearly 30 years, as well as the temporal and spatial differentiation of cities’ tourists in 10 years. On this basis, select the city of Wuhan, Yichang, Shiyan, Xiangyang, Xianning and Enshi as typical tourism cities, and build the linear regression relationship between climate comfort index and tourism amount. And then, it further reveals the influence of climate comfort on the temporal and spatial differentiation of tourists. The main conclusions of this essay are as follows:(1) In recent 30 years, the comprehensive climate comfort throughout the year presents the spatial distribution characteristics from the west to the east in Hubei. Enshi, Shennongjia and the west of Yichang has the highest comprehensive climate comfort; Xiaogan, Suizhou, Huangshi are the lowest. Every evaluation index changes from the west to the east as seasons alter. Its changing rule is similar as the shape of the scope of Hubei administrative area and the terrain changes laws.(2) It is spring and autumn own appropriate type of comprehensive climate comfort in Hubei, the autumn is more comfortable than the spring, winter is as follow, and the most uncomfortable season is summer. It has two types of the city’s comprehensive climate comfort index curves:the’M’ and the’hump’. The number of ’hump’ city is more than’M’s, and the ’M’ city has the lowest comfort in summer. Lichuan and Shennongjia have the longest comfortable period and the highest climate comfort in summer. The climate comfort focus spans wider west-east than north-south.(3) In recent 10 years, the number of tourists in each city increased year by year. Set the year of 2010 as a boundary, the scale of tourists in each city presents obvious growth and potential improvement. The average growth rate is more than 17%, after 2010, the tourist inter-annual change index starts over 100%. Among them, Enshi, Shennongjia, Xianning and Huangshi have the fastest growth rate.(4)The tourist scale structure is in line with Zipf law, and presents first distribution and the double fractal structure characteristics. In spatial distribution, it is obvious that the scale of tourist shows intent and unbalanced characteristics, mainly indicates’ Wuhan concentrates, Yichang, Shiyan and Xiangyang make a group’. In scale structure, the amount of tourist of the large and medium size cities become more balanced, the status of medium-sized cities continue to improve, medium and small size cities have decentralized tourists. The difference of tourist scale between each city is bigger, and the city of first location doesn’t lead well.(5) Climate comfort is not the main reason to effect the temporal and spatial differentiation of tourist for the typical tourist city in Hubei. Look from the temporal differentiation, in addition to Wuhan, other cities’ relationship between tourist and climate comfort is not related or weak correlation. Look from the spatial differentiation, the relationship between tourism resources abundance, GDP and tourist is positively correlated, but climate comfort are negatively related with tourist. It indicates that, as a subtropical inland province in mid-latitude area, typical tourist cities in Hubei have less attractive climate comfort, it makes other factors which effect the scale of tourist dilute or even change the positive influence of climate comfort degree.
