Preliminarily Taxonomical Studies Of Gomphonemaceae From Part Of China

Gomphonemataceae Kützing belonging to Bacillariophyta, Pennatae, Biraphidinales, there is a large number of species in this family, it is occupies an important position in the evolutionary of diatom. At present, more than 2,000 species belong to 6 genera were reported from worldwide; only nearly 250 taxa belong to 5 genera were reported from China.China is a huge country, across the boreal, temperate, subtropical and tropical climate zone.From 2009 to 2015, samples were collected from some regions of Heilongjiang, Guangdong, Hubei, Jiangxi, Jilin and Liaoning provinces respectively, a total of 400 samples were collected. Habitat types mainly include rivers, lakes, swamps, blisters, streams, and springs. In this study, the light microscope and the scanning electron microscope were used for observation on Gomphonemataceae Kützing, and 82 taxa were identified which belong to 4 genera 72 taxa were found belong to Gomphonema Ehrenberg; 3 taxa belong to Gomphoneis Cleve,4 taxa belong to Reimeria Kociolek & Stoerme and 3 taxa belong to Didymosphenia Schmidt 3 species.In this study, 37 new record species in China were observed, they are: Didymosphenia mongolica Lange-Bertalot, Didymosphenia tatrensis Mrozińska,Czerwik-Marcinkowska & Gradziński, Gomphoneis skabitchevskii Kociolek, Kulikovskiy & Solak, Gomphoneis tumida(Skvortzow in Skvortzow & Meyer) Kociolek & Stoermer, Gomphonema acidoclinatum Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema angustum Agardh, Gomphonema angusticephalum Reichardt & Lange-Bertalot, Gomphonema angustiundulatum Metzeltin, Lange-Bertalot & Nergui, Gomphonema aquaemineralis(Manuskioptnamen) Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema bozenae Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema clavatulum Reichardt, Gomphonema califugum Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema daphnoides Reichardt, Gomphonema drutelingense Reichardt, Gomphonema gandhii Karthick & Kociolek, Gomphonema hasta Metzeltin, Gomphonema hebridense Gregory, Gomphonema insigniforme Reichardt & Lange-bertalot, Gomphonema jadwigiae Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema jergackianum Reichardt, Gomphonema kaweckanum Metzetlin, Reichardt & Lange-Bertalot, Gomphonema latipes Reichardt, Gomphonema leptocampum Kociolek & Stoermer, Gomphonema occultum Reichardt & Lange-Bertalot, Gomphonema paludosum Reichardt, Gomphonema perolivaceoides Levkov, Gomphonema pseudoaugur Lange-Bertalot, Gomphonema pseudobohemicum Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema pratense Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema pumilum(Grunow) Reichardt & Lange-Bertalot, Gomphonema pumilum var. rigidum Reichardt et Lange-Bertalot in Reichardt, Gomphonema salae Lange-Bertalot & Reichardt, Gomphonema paludosum Reichardt, Gomphonema spiculoides Gandhi, Gomphonema subolivaceum Levkov & Nakov, Gomphonema turris var. brasiliense(Fricke in Schmidt et al.) Frenguelli, Reimeria fontinalis Levkov, Reimeria ovata(Hustedt) Levkov & Ector, Reimeria uniseriata Sala, Gruerrero & Ferrario.Under light microscopy(LM) observed these species’ morphological characteristics and described detail, and the differences between similar taxa were compared. During the research, most taxa are freshwater and cosmopolitan. Our work will provide basic information for taxonomical studies of Gomphonemataceae and biodiversity research of diatom in China.
