Groundwater is an essential resource of drinking water in Fu Xian and of whole Yan An. Recently in Fu County; we have seen an increase in the population(Density(/km2)=38) resulting the increased demand for drinking water and can make some environmental problems such surface waters pollution which can also contaminate groundwater. In addition, groundwater once polluted it is difficult to clean. For forestalling groundwater pollution and making respect the existent narrow line between human and its environment, as said by Rio Declaration on Environment and Development 1992, we carried out a series of research in Fu County. A research has taken around 2 years, from 2013 to 2015.The main purpose of this research is to prevention and assessment of the groundwater, and this study will achieve to the following objectives: Providing critical analysis and interpretation of existing data, estimating the risks of contamination, characterize the aquifer system in the aspect of the distribution and evolution of their pollution, and recommendation for improvement of groundwater in Fu Xian.To achieve our goals, we approached the research by using the following scheme which mainly includes three(3) aspects:? Problem definition and data collection? Modelling? Result and conclusionWe first set three(3) assumptions or hypotheses before for knowing:1- The main recharge sources of groundwater in the study area are precipitation infiltration and irrigation infiltration, which account for more than 89% in total recharge.2-Runoff processes are mainly affected by topography, soil type and soil depth.3- The pores within a soil volume are considered as laminar. An in-depth analysis of the Table 5 and the application of equation(7) shows:-Surface water resource available is about 45.42%;- The per capita water resources availability is lower(136.2m3) compared to the Yan’an(463m3) and to the national average of 2,200m3November 2013 to October 2014, the results of the calculation of water balance show poor equilibrium about 2.57%.The population projection shows that Fu County population will be estimated around 203,179 in 2045.The prediction results show that the feasible measures of prevention and control of groundwater design conditions is normal working condition of seepage control in good cases site area: domestic wastewater pool, chemical waste water pool, industrial wastewater pool and ash leakage have no influence on the groundwater quality; but under the accident damage cases, the pollutant leaking will have a certain effects on the factory bound scope of groundwater in a short period of time, and will not cause adverse effect to protect downstream target: as the control measures are taken.
