3D GIS is one of the most popular direction of current GIS research, compare with 2D,3D GIS has incomparable advantages:more vivid, intuitively describe the real word.3D GIS will no longer describe the real word object as abstract symbols. It directly present the 3D image in front of us. With the development of 3D GIS,it can be applicate into underground pipe.Using 3D technology,we can describe the complicated relationship between the pipes.Based on the current situation of the development of geographic information system analysis and 3D geographic information system, relying on the North China Electric Power University underground pipe network and geographic information system construction project,we completes the development of the system,to improve the campus functions, rational development and utilization of underground space, realize the prevention and ensure the safety of underground pipeline maintenance, to develop a set of efficient, intuitive, easy to expand and good user interactive 3D GIS software system of underground pipeline. This system provides a map query, statistics, spatial query,3D display and spatial data management function. This thesis will research on the key technology of 3D underground integrated pipeline system construction, For example, the realization of three-dimension modeling with SketchUp and ArcGIS Engine technology;By building a pipeline burst analysis of network topology network. The research focus on the study of 3D GIS modeling technology, realize the integration of two dimensional GIS system module and three-dimensional GIS module, the construction of efficient, easy expand space database etc.. In short, visualization of the systems provide assistant decision function for the leadership of the school department for network planning, transformation, realization of the underground pipeline management scientific and automation.
