Nanhaizi Wetland nature reserve is located in Baotou City in Inner Mongolia. It belongs to the system of Yellow River wetlands in Baotou City. And it is the only wetland nature reserve at the level of province. Because it has complete wetland natural resources, it can be regarded as the typical representative of the research on Yellow River wetlands. As an important part of Baotou City ecosystem, it is of great significance for the biodiversity conservation, the ecological environment and the sustainable development of social economy.Based on field investigation and references research, this paper applied the methods of cluster analysis, regression analysis and correlation coefficients to analyze the species component of the communities, floristic geographical elements, life forms and water ecotypes of plants, community types, species diversity, the relationship between diversity and soil factors, interspecies relationship, we aimed at understanding the Nanhaizi Wetland nature reserve in plant diversity status and its relationship with the environment, and provided the theoretical basis of plant diversity conservation and sustainable utilization in Nanhaizi Wetland nature reserve. The main results were as follows:(1) There were 208 vascular plant species, belonged to 52 families and 137 genera in Nanhaizi Wetland. Spermatophyte were 184,belonged to 47 families and 114 genera. The floristic elements were complex. The temperate element characteristics were representative in the region, accounting for 74.99% of the total number of genus. Most of the plants’life forms were perennial herbs, accounting for 50.54% of the total number of species.The water ecotypes of plants was mainly mesophytes, accounting for 69.35% of the total number of species. There were abundant resource plants in the nature reserve, which should be protected.(2) It had a low plant diversity index in Nanhaizi Wetland nature reserve by the methods of cluster analysis and field investigation. The plant community composition was simple and with single structure. The communities were classified 6 types, the perennial herbs community was the mainly type.(3) Saline soil in the study area was the mainly type with about 8.9 pH and salt content 0.49-6.66 g/kg on average. The community species diversity index and soil factors had non-significant relevance. The content of SO42-, HCO3-, Cl-Na+ and K+ in soil were the main factors affecting the plant community species diversity.(4) The interspecies relation of 18 plant species with high frequency was studied in Nanhaizi Wetland used x2 test, Pearson correlation test and Spearman rank correlation test. There were 153 species pairs by 23 species among. The results showed that the species pairs with signification positive interspecies association were less. Many pairs showed negtive interspecific association. The plant community was not stable, and was still in its early and middle stage of succession in the study area.
