Wild flowering plants cover a wide range of species, which are different in colors and forms. They are important sources for optimizing the resources of cultivated plants, developing new species of flowering plants and enriching the flowering plants resources. The Gogostai Hanwula National Nature Reserve possesses superior geographical and climatic conditions and can be considered as a treasure library which contains rich resources of wild flowering plants. Based on the field investigation of wild ornamental plant resources in The Gogostai Hanwula National Nature Reserve, and analysis and evaluation of its. the results obtained are as follows:There are303kinds (including200species,4dub-species and9varieties) of wild flowering plants, which belong to49families and181genera. It can be seen that the diversity of plants in the Reserve is extremely high. From the perspectives of life form and water eco-type, the wild flowering plants in the Reserve are mostly perennial herbaceous plants with a total number of224species, accounting for73.93%of the total wild flowering plants; among the eco-type plants, typical mesophyte plants boast a distinct advantage with a total number of173species, accounting for57.10%.To further conduct a concrete analysis of the wild flowering plants, they can be divided into ligneous plants and herbaceous plants in terms of live form. Ligneous plants can be subdivided into trees, small trees, shrubs and woody vines; herbaceous plants can be subdivided into biennial herbaceous ones and perennial herbaceous ones. Judging from flower shapes, they can be classified into five kinds of color, shape, size, flowering season and garden use. In terms of flower colors, there are five colors of white, pink, red, yellow, and blue violet. Furthermore, there are also special colors and other mosaic colors. Among them, white colors are in greatest number; second one is followed by blue violet; the red colors are in least numbers. In terms of flower shapes, the wild flowering plants in the Reserve can be divided into three big categories of actinomorphic flowers, zygomorphous flowers, tiny inflorescence flowers. Actinomorphic flowers are subdivided into funnel-shaped corolla, bell-shaped corolla, cross corolla and chrysanthemum corolla; zygomorphous flowers are subdivided into papilionaceous corolla, labiate corolla, orchild-shaped corolla and spurred corolla. In terms of flower size, these flowers can be classified into large-sized ones, middle-sized ones, small-sized ones, mini-type ones and inflorescence ones, whose numbers are35,51,70,26and121, respectively. In terms of flowering seasons, the actual flowering time only includes5months, from late April or early May to mid October. The flowering period begins in late April and only12plants bloom. In May, there are84plants which bloom in early summer, which enjoys a sharp increase compared to that in April. June witnesses an increasing number of flowers blossoming and July is the peak time. There are237plants who bloom in July. A downward phenomenon appears in August and the number of flowering plants basically equals to that of June, namely,190. A clear downward trend occurs in September and October. Only one plant, Aster pekinensis (Hance) F. H. Chen, is recorded to bloom in October. Finally, according to height, size, life form and adaptation to habitats, the wild flowering plants are divided into six categories of shady woody plants, hedge barrier plants, ground cover plants, vertical greening plants, potted plants and cut flowers.Apply the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and absolute evaluation selection method. These wild flowering plants are eventually divided into four evaluation levels:60plants have great development potential and can be developed;105plants possess high value and can be moderately developed due to other limitations;91plants have less ornamental value compared to the previous ones but can be selectively developed in small size; the remaining45plants have lower evaluation results and thus relatively small value of development and utilization.
