The Research Of Mobile Map Design Based On Situational Experience

With the development of mobile communications, mobile positioning and mobilecomputing, the mobile map which has become an important position service is widelyused. The map displayed on the mobile terminals, including mobile phones and padsare mainly refered to the mobile map. The mobile phone map is researched in thisthesis. Because of the complexity of mobile map product, the diversity of usagescenarios, and the polymorphism of user behavior, the challenges are brought to themobile map design. Depart from the perspective of situational experience，the userexperience design of mobile map is researched，which is devoted to explore the designstrategies of mobile map in different contexts.Firstly, the theory of situational experiences is researched, as well as th e meaningand classification of situational experiences are summarized, and the three elementsof situational experiences——users, environment and devices are analyzed. On thebasis of this heoretical study and combined with the characteristics of mobile ma p,four typical scenarios of mobile map are proposed, and influencing factors in thesetypical scenarios are analyzed. At the same time, the user’s needs and concerns inspecific context are summarized，which assist the mobile map product design. Fathermore, combined with the structure of mobile map, the situational experience model ofmobile map is constructed, which explained the process situational experience effectson user’s input and obtain information from mobile map. Finally, the strategies ofinteraction, interface layout and visual design are summed up. Through the buildingof situational experience model, the use process of mobile map is integrated, formwhich the skeleton is sorted out, and the product design and research methods areimproved and enhanced.Through practical application, the mobile map design can be assisted effectivelyby the mobile map design method which based on situational experience. As a result，appropriate and good experience can be provided to users. Through the case, the valueand prospects of the study are confirmed.
