Thanks for the domestic fragile geological environment and complex geologicalcondition,our country is one of countries most affected by geological disaster.Disaster management is a circulation collaboration process in which informationorganization and communication is crucial. The minimization of disaster impact is acrucial part of geological disaster management,which requires critical thinking,quickdecision-making and continuous efforts,as well as the cooperation of stakeholders.As the application of information and communication technologies in the field ofdisaster management,the quantity of information is becoming larger,and more andmore complicated. In geological disaster emergency management,information isthe important element for identifying the disaster and warning,disaster status trackingand feedback,decision making and processing,and allocation of human,materialresources. At first,this paper studied and analyzed the present situation of geologicaldisaster emergency management and problems in information resourcesmanagement,made clear the positive significance and business needs of metadatamodel in exchange and sharing of geological disaster emergency information.Targeting at the problems of insufficient real-time of information,inconsistent ofbasic standards of information,unreasonable information transfer process and lack ofeffective information management method, geological disaster emergencyinformation resource metadata model introduced a large number of advancedinformation resources management ideas and methods to help achieve disasterefficient communication and sharing of emergency information resources.This paper discussed classification and description of emergency informationresource,put forward a kind of geological disaster emergency information resourcemetadata standard following the reference of Metadata Standard of GovernmentInformation Locator Service, and preliminarily builds the geological disasteremergency information resource metadata model. The result of informationdescription is information description record, namely, metadata. Metadata isstructured data to describe,explain and define the data,which can improve the efficiency of search,and utilization of information resources management. In aparticular field to create consistent standards of information resource managementrules, and to realize the sustainable development of information resourcesclassification through metadata tag is the first step to create ecological content system.Metadata model not singly describes the metadata itself;it still expresses therelationship between metadata. The XML document defining the metadata structureon the metadata store layer is the key to realize information exchange and sharing formetadata model between heterogeneous systems.
