A Study On Construction Green Supply Chain Based On General Contract Model

The negative influence which created by the development of last several hundred years to the environment causes us to introspect the high economy growth way and to explore the development patterns which can be in harmony with the environment. The construction industry which plays an important role in the economical development consumes many kinds of resources. Therefore, when we seek the way by which the economic development and the nature can be in accordance with each other, we should pay attention to the environment-friendly development of the construction industry. Based on the present green supply chain research in manufacturing industry and considered the characteristics of construction industry, this article discusses the application of green supply chain in the construction industry. At first, the article analysis the general concept of the green supply chain and the specialty of construction, tells us why we choose the green supply chain to deal with the environment problem and the realization of green construction. Then the article builds a construction green supply chain model which is based on the EPC/Turn Key model. In the model, the general contractor is the core. The chain should include material suppliers, designers, subcontractors and recovers. The concept of the construction green supply chain is given, and also the links of the chain are discussed. Then the suppliers are classified into three categories according to the contract period and the environmental influence degree which caused by the purchasing targets to the project. The different collaboration way is given according to the different categories. Then four links of green supply chain are discussed in detail——green purchase, green design, green construction and recovery. The article also gives the steps to green supply chain. Then the necessary supports are concerned and the implementation of green supply chain by internet is discussed. In the last, the article gives the future of the green supply chain in construction. This study can help us to implement the green supply chain in construction and to research deeply.
