Study On Agricultural Technique Extension System

The major contributions of our agricultural technique extension system include propagating countryside policies of the government, roll outing agricultural technique and improving the role of technique. It also helps to improve farmers' technical knowledge by trainings on application technique. Product architectures are also improved with the effort of our extension system.However, recently significant changes on demand- and- supply relationship, development purpose and method for yield increase require new development in the extension system. Especially when the revolution of countryside extends technical supplier and demander into disparate possibilities, the old extension system is facing great challenges and competitions. Furthermore, it is also our concern how to adjust agricultural product architecture and how to improve farmers' income. Finally the old extension system of the government has become inefficient without appropriate strategies for current market economy environment.Domestic and international agricultural extension theory and experience are compared and history and situation of our extension system has been analyzed in the thesis. We are trying to design a domestic agricultural extension system in consideration our country's unique features. The focuses include how to organize the cooperation based on division of labor, how to improve organization efficiency and improve the macro-management performance. In addition, we consider how to stimulate the potential of researchers, extenders and farmers, which helps to optimize the agricultural extension system. It is expected that hi-tech products would be diffused more efficiently and the long- term development of agriculture would be guaranteed.This thesis is organized as follows. The first chapter introduces the background, purpose, applications and current research status of the topic. Basic ideas and research methods are introduced in the second chapter. We introduce the theory of agricultural extension including education theory, technique diffusion theory and demanding theory. In the third chapter, international and domestic agricultural extension systems are analyzed and compared. First the worldwide status is shown and typical systems are analyzed and evaluated. Then experience of some developed countries are highlighted in this chapter.Finally a review on our domestic extension system is provided. The fourth chapter points out the problems and challenges of our current systems. We analyze a practical example in the fifth chapter and draw experience and principle from it. The example shows the revolution process of the agriculture system in Jingzhou, Hubei Province. In the sixth chapter, some solutions on system organization, outlay and human resources are proposed.
