Playing an important role in business administration, Performance Evaluation is widely carried out in commercial banks today. As the first joint stock bank that went into operation in Chongqing, China Everbright Bank Chongqing Branch (abbr. CEB CQ) has actively made much efforts in Performance Evaluation. Initiating with introduction of general theoretics of Performance Evaluation, this article gives CEB CQ's practices in Performance Evaluation an analysis as a result of study, then presents comments and suggestions.This dissertation is composed of three parts. In the first one, basic theoretics is introduced, including concepts of Performance Evaluation, basic principles of evaluation, parameters selecting principles, evaluation scopes, organization and administration of evaluation, and evaluation data acquisition. In the second part, a comprehensive description and analysis of CEB CQ's Performance Evaluation practices is given, consisting of three aspects: Performance Evaluation of operational sub-branches, of management departments, and of individual clerks. Particular parameters selecting, evaluation scoring and applying of evaluation results are mainly involved in each aspect Two cases are supplied to make demonstration. In the third part, topics about CEB CQ's Performance Evaluation practices are discussed, and suggestions are presented. In this article, the important positive effects of CEB CQ's Performance Evaluation measures and regulations, such as promotion to business development, enhancement of administration, arousing the working passions of clerks, are acknowledged. Simultaneously, it is pointed out that many aspects should be optimized. Based on comprehensive study and analysis of existed problems, with application of relevant theories, this article presents comments and suggestions to improve CEB CQ's Performance Evaluation in the following four aspects: Performance Evaluation conceptions, environments, utilities and capabilities.
