The Construction Project Safety Management System Based On The KPI

As one of the most important and essential demands, safety is the basic guarantee of the human's life and health. In recently years, the construction industry safety problem is becoming more and more seriously. Annually, more than ten thousands people dead for the construction accidents. We are processing the largest construction activities in the history and also in the world. The most important thing is to carrying out a new way of safety management to reduce the accidents and the number of death. The purpose of the research is to improve the management level of the construction project management and to reduce the accidents and the number of death through the use of the Key Performance Indicator methods. Chapter one, the author starts from the serious situation of the construction project safety at present to the objective, the meaning, the research methods and the context of the paper. Chapter two, the author has cited a lot of cases and figures to show to the readers a full understand to the current construction project safety level in China. Through the analysis to the reasons for the construction accidents, the author has found the key factor to improve the safety is to improve the management level of safety. But what method can we use to improve the safety management level? The author put forward the method of Performance Management based on the Key Performance Indicator. Chapter three, starting from the conception of the performance management, the author introduced the performance target system and the process of performance process (performance plan, performance tutorship, performance evaluation and performance feedback.). Chapter four, having the LH international plaza as an example, using the methods and process introduced last chapter, the author has set up a set of construction safety management performance system based on the Key Performance Indicator. Because of the length of the paper, the author only has three positions as examples to explain the whole system instead of all positions. Chapter five, as a summary, the author has illustrated some suggestions to the safety management in China, and the short of the paper.
