| The backbone network of modern telecommunications are using advanced SDH technology and standard mainstream products, but, due to the problem of cost and complexity, the popularizing of accessing to the edge network become a puzzle. Traditional PDH technology and products still meet and fit for end access network application requirements, and extensive use, that is because the mature technology, low-cost, easy installation, and do not take up 155M port and other factors, these can meet customer's business needs, hence the PDH technology and products are large used constantly in the market of end access network.The network structure like this is bound to arise a problem which is the coexistence of PDH and SDH technology in the same network, and the common network management system can not be realized the unified management features for PDH technology and device in end network. This paper is researched on how to carry out the intelligent for PDH device in edge network.Firstly, the backgrounds and significances of providing intelligent network management functions for traditional PDH access network, which have been summarized and analyzed. While studied the technical characteristics of PDH Network Management System and related protocols and architectures. Aiming at the edge device of PDH transmission network-PDH fiber optic transmission machine, from the point of achieving intelligent management, an efficient and cost-effective embedded network management design is proposed.Secondly, it is the design for system hardware platform. The processor is selected SAMSUNG'S classic embedded chip-S3C4510B that is based on Ethernet application, the characteristics and structure of the microprocessor have been analyzed and studied in detail, and the part of interface circuit is designed. Then, the paper is focused studied on the software design and implementation of PDH network management system. The system basing on VxWorks embedded operating system platform, using cross-compiler development environment, choosing Wind River Tornado as a development tool, design and develop a set of network management software on PDH system board to centralized monitoring and management optical signals from Ethernet, local and remote network management are realized respectively using serial port and Telnet remote login protocols. In order to improve resource utilization and system performance, in the system, Ethernet chip and switch chip all have the ability of VLAN, and the effective network management test commands are gave.Finally, the feasibleness and practicability of system are proved though verifying network management functions with two board interoperability testing. |
