With the development of Broadband Internet, the income ratio of Broadband Access Service is increasing every year, the size of Broadband Access Network is increasing too. In order to improve the quality of telecommunication network, the carriers is paying more attention on how to do the centralized management and maintain for all kinds of network device.This subject researched and designed the network management software based on script language and telnet protocol. With this software, the maintenance staffs and the service staffs can implement the real-time checking of running conditions of all network devices with same client. What's more, all devices can be controlled centralized.We used a design proposal which run telnet dialogue by script engine. This design proposal can get different network devices'sorts of running condition though four main module. They are Script Engine, Telnet Dialogue's script definition, Thread Pool and Task Scheduling. To complete the new network devices installation, maintenance personnel only need to add, change or delete the related setting in system database through the client software, Do not need to recompile the server software. This design avoids the interruption of network service caused by the software update or the devices installation. It makes the entire system has a higher universal property and extendibility.By develops the centralized information collection and processing for a verity of modals, the system is able to collect real-time device condition, display device history and locate the network failure. All these function can reduce the failure period and resolve the failure from sprout by the annalistic and pretreatment of hidden trouble. Thus, the system can raise the productivity of maintenance personnel and the quality of network service. The industry will create good social and economic benefits. In addition, this system can support all telnet compatible devices. Maintenance personnel don't have to use different brands'network management system at all.So far, all functions of this system work stable, easy to use and can satisfied the requirement of reality maintain work. Therefore, this system has reached the expectation of the subject.
