Free-space laser communication is a high bit-rate, strong anti-interference and high reliability technology. Pointing, acquisition, tracking (PAT) system is a key subsystem of the free-space optical communication system. High-precision images and high-speed image acquisition capability are required in the PAT subsystem. At the same time, in order to compensate for the LOS disturbance caused by the satellite platform vibration, high image sampling frequency is also required, which put forward a higher requirements for the image acquisition and processing system. Based on the above requirements, rapid detection technology of space target location based on two dimensional coordinate's decomposition which has advantages of high-resolution, large field of view and high frame rate is presented in this paper. Also, it has important practical significance and application value.In this article, the detection principle will be first discussed, based on which, light intensity distribution on the focal plane is discussed, and the possibility of detection is accounted. Optical system, electronics system and software are designed according to the task function and the main design specifications of the image acquisition and processing system.In the optical system design program, several common characteristics of optical system are introduced, firstly. Combined with different detection system's characteristics, Karzai Green lens reflex structure is adopted as the front telescope system. Prism and cylindrical lens is adopted as the decomposition of two-dimensional coordinate system. Reflecting mirror is adopted as the optical path reflex system to reduce the optical system size and the launch weight. In addition, the qualitative evaluation and software simulation is designed.In the electronics system program, linear CCD image sensor which pixel size is 10μm is adopted. VSP2254 is adopted as the system of data acquisition module which with correlated double sampling and 14-bit A/D conversion functions. Camera link is adopted as the data transmission interface. CPLD is adopted as chip timing constitute and data management module. Data cache module is composed with DSP + CPLD structure and a ping-pong structure of DDR SDRAM. At the en, the distribution network design ideas are proposed. Software design ideas are proposed in designing software system. Every functional modules of the software process are designed. ISE is used as a system software development platform for software development, and on this basis, Modelsim is used to simulate the global timing of the system software.
