Self-made teaching equipment is used for improving the experimental teaching conditions, providing practice aids for the theory of teaching. It is useful for students to develop learning ability and practical ability. In addition, Self-made teaching equipment is also an important indicator which shows the university teaching quality. Many Domestic and foreign universities researchers are active in this area of research and development. In view of its importance, scholars of China University of Petroleum have carried out some corresponding research work for the teaching practice. This thesis is designing an assistant teaching equipment for smart instrument based on HART protocol,combined with practical teaching of Automation Instrumentation Courses.The design of assistant teaching equipment for smart instrument is divided into two parts, hardware design and software design. By introducing modularized design thinking, each part of the design is divided into different modules according to the functions. And every module is designed independently. The hardware design consists of four parts, those are the temperature-analog converter module, the vortex-analog converter module, the differential- analog converter module and the digital signals processing module. And the software design consists of two parts, those are the control program modules and the communication program module based on HART protocol. In the design process, it was added the interface circuit used to output the intermediate variables. So it can show the conversion process of signals to the students.This article is based on the previous research, further improve and perfect assistant teaching equipment for smart instrument. It describes the design of the overall program and design guidelines,and completes the vortex-analog converter module and differential-analog converter module. And it also has written some HART communication procedures and monitoring procedures, improved the functions of the equipment, and basically achieved the predetermined functional requirements.
