Combustible gas detector is a security product that can be used to detect combustible gas and warn about it in combustible and explosive area. Performance testing device of the combustible gas detector plays a very important role both in the industrial supervision and electronic fire products quality supervision. The rapid development of electronic technology and control theory has made it possible for the research of performance testing device with high performance and high index.This paper explains current situation and development trend of combustible gas detector. People have more acknowledgements on fire protection with the urbanization process deepen and much more attention being paid to combustible gas alarm technology.Based on the working principle of combustible gas detector, working features are analyzed and the designing idea of dynamic volumetric method together with real-time monitoring strategy with a much matured technology which differ from static volumetric ratio method is described.The research on how to match the software properly with the mechanical structure and produce a new testing device for combustible gas detector is conducted which makes the testing device capable of testing on the response thresholds of the combustible gas detector under different situations. Meanwhile many interference factors such as circumstance and electric-magic are take into consideration to improve the anti interference performance and make the system more stable, avoiding missing report and misreport. In the realization part, principle chart and program flow charts are analyzed. An optimum constructor is used which can lower the power consuming and improve the adaptability of this testing device.The system controls the testing process with industrial control computers which lead to higher automation, high precision of testing and better anti-interference ability. The system also adopts a fuzzy controller to control the environmental temperature and humidity which makes the environmental temperature and humidity indexes of this system higher than the national standard. A system software is also developed here with Visual Basic to make the system capable of accomplish the tests required in the national standards.At the same time, the simple and friendly interface, ability to record automatically and printing add more to the whole system. The testing result of combustible gas detector has been presented in the end of this paper. Conclusion can be drawn that this system can fulfill its design goal.
