Recently, the State Council issued that in the next few years our country will achieve the aim of uniting the networks of TV,Tel and Computer. According to this policy, industry have raised a family services solution with high-capacity wireless data, its data transmission bandwidth is about 400MHz. The main contents of this article is about the designing of this kind of antenna. The purpose is to design a patch antenna with its bandwidth of 400MHz,and its center frequency of 2.4GHz, smaller size , lower costs and its suitability for mass production.In this article, we mainly use the ADS software to simulate the commonly used triangular ladder microstrip antenna to determine this kinds of antenna's center frequency and size .After the size of the antenna cell has been determined ,we improved the ground of antenna to increase the antenna's bandwidth. After simulated and improvemented by using the ADS softwoare, we can determine the size of this kind antenna structure with bandwidth of 400MHz and the center frequence of 2.4GHz ,and we will use these measurements to establish the model and simulate in the FDTD software in order to increase the accuracy of the antenna design. At the end of simulation ,we produced a physical sample and test it based on the simulation results. According to the test results ,center frequency accuarately matched the results from the two simulation software. S11 parameter is much closer to the results which abtained by using FDTD. Therefore, improvement of the antenna will mainly depend on FDTD simulation. After re-testing, the antenna achieves the desired results.In this paper, the main results achieved are as follows: The first one is the comparative research of numerical simulation method of antenna. The results show that while doing the antenna design ,in the preliminary design we can use the ADS software to determine the structure, size and frequency, and then we use FDTD software to analyse antenna accurately and improve it so that the antenna can achieve the desired effect. Finally we tested the physical sample and improve the performance. This simplified some high-end, complex, high-cost antenna designs, saving a lot of human and material resources. The second one is that antenna design achieves good results ,while its testing results of bandwidth is 500MHz, its S11 parameter is below -45dB ,and the batch test results is consist, cost is lower, the antenna is suitable for mass production. The results completely meet the pre-design requirements.
