With the attention paid to the electric power by human and the continuous applications, there has been a close link between electric power facilities and human living, and the electric power even becomes the basis for the development of modern industries. But it is undeniable that, for various reaons, electric power brings human not only convenience of daily life, but alse the trouble and loss, and sometimes manifested as a disaster. Therefore, the electrial security has becomes not only the important task for the operation and maintenance staff to eliminate electrical security hazards, prenvent casualties, protect workers' health and the successful completion of work, but also the main electrical issues faced by professionals.Electrical fires occurred frequently in recent years, the government had paid more attention to it and formulated a series of related national standards. With particular emphasis on electrical fire protection, the standards required that a leakage detection equipment with alarm function must be installed in the electrical systems; in high-rise buildings, the need to the leakage fire alarm system must be set; in most places, the installation of residual current operated electrical fire control system was required.In the traditional monitoring system, sensors and microcontrollers were used for monitoring, the industrial computer was used as the centralized monitor, and finally the system configured a dedicated configuration control software. Because of its low efficiency, high cost, and the requirement of professionals, this method couldn't meet the demands of popularization of the electrical security monitoring systems in high-rise buildings and large factories. With the development of embedded technology, this paper presents an electrical security intelligent monitoring system, based on site monitors with dual MCU control unit and a central data monitor using ARM+Linux+Qt/E architecture. This system can enhance the accuracy of eleectrical fire alarm and the stability of the running process, also impove the proformance, reduce power consumpton, and cut down the cost.The main task of assignment includes:1. The hardware and software design of site monitor based on PIC MCU;2. To establish the develop environment of Linux and study the process of application development in Linux;3. To study the features of GUI in embedded Linux, establish the planting and developing environment of Qt/E in this system;4. To develop the device driver for the hardware platform based on ARM9 and design the software of GUI application;5. To design the dual power supply switching based on 51 MCU.
