Wireless spectrum is a non-renewable resource, it is always the first priority for national radio management to use the radio spectrum resources rationally and regulate it effectively. Traffic information, weather forecasting and other public service information of every province is sent through this band, it is irreplaceable in people's daily life and work. However, some organizations or individuals launch FM signals without permission for various purposes, thus seriously disrupting the normal operation of FM broadcast.Therefore, the object of the thesis is to design a portable monitoring and location system for FM band. The system should be able to have on-line location and work independently. This thesis combines the correlative interferometer algorithm and magnitude comparison algorithm together to achieve the direction finding task, and the measurement results will be displayed graphically on the map using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).The thesis mainly focuses on the design and implementation of the hardware system. The following is the major jobs in it.1. Analyzing the system needs, and designing the direction founding scheme, as well as the overall system structure.2. Designing the block diagram for the hardware system, according to the requirements of the overall system, and achieving the processes of chip selection, module circuits design and debug.3. Fulfilling the hardware system on-line debugging, and acquiring the system parameters. The test results show that the system parameters achieve the requirements of the subject.4. Finally improving the original design based on the analysis of the test results, and partial accomplished in order to achieve better performances, the improvements that have been completed show that the system's power consumption and direction finding accuracy are better than that before.
