With the arrival of 3G (Three Generation) network era, the user brought forward the growing demand to the Color-Ring-Back-Tone (CRBT) service. As the expansion and enhancement of CRBT service, MRBT(Multimedia-Ring-Back-Tone) service allows the callee to set various back tone media for different caller. The caller would no longer just hear the monotonous ring tone or a simple song or music but able to see the personalized video playback. At the same time, the popularization of intelligent terminal and broadband network in 3G network provides the capacity for the more complicated but more attractive value-added-services such as video application.Therefore, in order to meet the urgent needs of users, the rapid deployment of MRBT-the killer service in 3G network is a task which brooks no delay.This paper first introduces the main concept and the specification of MRBT service, then analyses the status and the realizing principle of the most popular implementation of that service which is based on IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS). after the analysis the advantages and disadvantages of that implementation, presents a faster and more economical implementation scheme base on Independent Intelligent Peripheral(IIP). In the new schema, CN(Control Node) controls the MSIP(MultiMedia Server Intellectual Processor) board to implement the MRBT service via VIPS(Virtual Integrated Programmable Switch) proxy application. The system structure, the internal signal interactive process and the brief implementation mechanism is also presented. Finally, with the scientific evalution of system configuration, it gaves the detailed implementation and follow-up construction plan of entire system.
