The Design And Implementation Of Enhanced Functions Of Color Ring Back Tone Service

Color Ring Back Tone (CRBT for short) Service is a feature to enable a calling subscriber to hear a music tone, instead of the old-fashioned ring-back tone, while waiting for the called subscriber to answer the call. The music tone can be subscribed by either a calling subscriber or by a called subscriber; CRBT Service is a typical personalized service, which has been popular among users and profitable for telecom operators.The CRBT service firstly applied in China in 2003 by China Mobile Communications Corporation. Relied on novel and personalized service feature, CRBT service has developed rapidly. However, after two years development, subscribers become familiar with CRBT service and do not pay more attention to CRBT service. In this situation, more enhanced functions of CRBT service should be needed to attract more subscribers.This article describes the designing and implementation of enhanced functions of CRBT service in GSM network. In chapter one, firstly it introduces the basic service attributions of CRBT service; secondly it introduces the color ring recourse and the charge for using CRBT service; thirdly it introduces some functions of CRBT service, which are already useable.
