Radio Frequency Identification is a non-contact automatic identification technology using radio frequency. RFID has become a hot IT area, and many countries are sparing no effort to promote this technology. However, RFID technology itself is the existence of unresolved issues, it also failed to move toward large-scale applications and is still limited to small-scale demonstration application. Urgent need to address the current problem is that there is no global RFID international standard. Several organizations to develop different standards for different frequency bands exist at the international level incompatibilities. Thus, through the establishment of RFID test platform puting forward a series of RFID product testing methods in the future can create an open RFID hardware and software products joint test platform, develop series of RFID hardware and software product testing standards and specifications, form RFID technology testing standards system, and meet the RFID technology, research and testing, application testing and other public service needs. And thus help to promote the formation of the entire RFID industry chain and development.In this paper, a universal test platform for RFID is designed on the basic of the above research background. This paper introduces the basic theory of RFID and the basic concepts of software radio. On this basis, it has a detailed discussion on the testing platform for UHF RFID hardware and software design.Transceiver hardwares use NI IF RIO hardware for hardware design. It includes A/D, D/A converters, digital down converter (DDC), digital upconverter (DUC) and the DSP.Basing on LabVIEW platform and according to ISO/IEC 18000-6 Type C air interface standards, this paper design software. RFID compliance testing and performance testing, validation testing platform interoperability, and testing of the RFID system performance are evaluated.
