In the process of mechanical systems production and using, there may be damage, deformation and deterioration of the systems, so it is necessary to monitor the security of mechanical systems. However, with the diversification of mechanical systems applications, traditional security systems for machinery system are difficult to meet the requirements of mechanical transmission equipments and it leads to the difficulties of accessing and extraction key signals.Because of this reason, the status monitoring, damage analysis and residual life prediction for some important equipments, such as automotive transmission, tank gearbox, wind power gearbox and ship gearbox, can not be effectively achieved. This makes it hard to improve the reliability of mechanical products. Automotive transmission's safety Monitoring is typical of such problems. The system developed for this problem is an embedded electronic device, which is high compositive and adaptable to harsh environment. The success of the development of this system can monitoring the safety of automotive transmission and also can provides solutions and platform support for such problems.Safety measuring system for automotive transmission uses a 32-bit microprocessor PHILIPS LPC2146 as a core processor, which can do things like data acquisition, storage, management, transmission and display. After analysis requirement, design solution of this system has been made. On basis of the hardware, software development platform chose the embedded operating systemμC/OS-II. High capacity, small size battery is selected as the system power. Power monitor chip is used for monitor power supply. NANDFLASH is used as the system storage devices to achieve the storage and management of data. Wireless control fuction is realized by using RF chip. Data transmission uses USB2.0 full speed interface. In addition, in order to meet the harsh environment, special materials shell has been designed for the system.After the system development and testing according to the design solution, this system has fuctions as follow,collecting multiple torque signals with required sampling precision and rate, allows massive, high speed data storage and security management, USB data transmission between device and host, obtained data can be displayed as waveform in the host computer. At last, the system equipment is easy to intall and is adapt to harsh conditions.
