Stereo vision is an important part of both virtual reality and computer vision. Mini-invasive surgery is at a forward filed in current surgery field. However, there is a thorny issue to mini-invasive surgery, that is, what the doctor can get from the patient's body is only two-dimensional information. Loss of depth information brings many difficulties to the doctor's surgery operations. And the difficulties may lead to errors in surgery, giving patients greater pain and sequelae. If the doctor can get the patient's body three-dimensional information at a surgical operation, similar to the effect of looking directly at the patient's body tissues and organs, the surgical difficulties would be reduced at a large extent. Therefore, how to obtain three-dimensional information of the patients'body is a very important issue. Stereo vision can be a better way to solve this problem and can lead to more efficient eye-hand consistency for mini-invasive surgery.Firstly, the paper studies the related technologies with stereo vision in-depth, and analyzes the desired technology and devices for the establishment of a complete stereo vision system. Then after contrast between two models of parallax three-dimensional visual, the paper decides use the parallel binocular model as the basis of the stereo vision system. The paper also compares some current stereo display technologies, and decides to use the stereo glasses as the method to display field according to the laboratory conditions.After choosing the stereo display technology and the parallax three-dimensional visual model, the system is divided to parts according to the different stereo data, which are double-CMOS stereo imaging system and virtual double-eye imaging system. And the paper selects OpenGL as the tool of the development of the whole software system. Double-CMOS stereo imaging system is mainly based on minimally invasive surgery as the application background. And realize the real-time stereo display based on PC using the paper's software platform. Virtual double-eye imaging system is mainly used to real-time display another stereo data source: three-dimensional model. And achieve real-time stereo display, using the STL model as the example.
