Design Of Video Surveillance System Based On DM648

Video surveillance is the monitoring of the behavior, activities, or other changing information, usually of people and often in a surreptitious manner. It has been extensively used in many public areas, such as police, fire fighting, forest, airport, supermarket, city traffic, etc.Low bit rate can be achieved using H.264 with the same video quality.It makes easier for storage and transmission through network, but need higher computational complexity. This eight channel video surveillance system uses only one DSP– TI's TMS320DM648.The first chapter introduces DSP system's character, software & and hardware design flow and development tools. The second chapter introduces TMS320DM648's character and modules. The third chapter implements the hardware platform, such as audio & video circuit, gigabit ethernet circuit, DDR2 SDRAM circuit, power supply circuit, etc. The fourth chapter completes hardware debug and firmware development.At last, a important conclusion is achieved. One DM648 DSP can acomplish eight channel CIF H.264 encoder and one channel CIF H.264 decoder simultaneously.
