Before the establishment of capitalist society, the modern Western media preach and strive for the democratic rights such as the freedom of speech, or of the press, spreading the shining classic culture in the long history and shaping the spiritual home of human nation. Since the capitalist society has been established, the modern Western media have gradually embarked on the road of commercialization, giving top priority to profits. Derived from Media Business, mass culture mainly in pursuit of sex, violence and entertainment, as well as the Guest-host Global Communication mode has come into being. The Value Orientation of capitalization, popularization and subjectification and objectification of communication in the modern Western media has led to a series of major issues related to human civilization, such as the shrinking of the public discourse space, the ruining of the culture of truth and the declining of the national consciousness.Under the influence of the Western media business, the Chinese media have gradually embarked on the road of commercialization as well, which not only improves its communication competence, but also exposes the problems relevant to it. Therefore, this paper aims to find out how to build a Media system with Chinese Characteristics which allows the capital's participation in media development and, on the other hand, avoids the negative consequences of commercialization. The author holds that a Media system with Chinese Characteristics should be built from three aspects, that is, the capital access to the media market, the creation of Value Orientation of the media and the media supervision.
