With the rapid development of mobile communication technologies, the third generation mobile communication (3G) technology has been progressively commercialized. As one of the mainstream 3G standards, cdma2000 attracts more and more researchers'attention.Nowadays, most researchers have mainly focused on the theoretic research and simulation performance of cdma2000 system's key technologies. Monographs which discuss the implementation of cdma2000 system are extremely scarce in our state. However, the hardware implementation is considered to be more important for communication system. Increasingly sophisticated Software Defined Radio technology, greatly promotes the development of communication technology. The topic of this paper comes from the cdma2000 1x Meascuring Receiver project which is cooperated with a company. Researching and developing through this issue, this paper builds a cdma2000 1x Meascuring Receiver hardware system. The cdma2000 1x Meascuring Receiver system has been commercially available.The history, basic principles and main technical characteristics of cdma2000 system are introduced first in this paper. Then, the common methods of cdma2000 1x synchronization are discussed. And the paper presents the methods'analysis, comparison and simulation using Matlab. Then, based on the above simulation results, considering the performance requirements and the hardware complexity of cdma2000 1x Meascuring Receiver system, this paper proposes its own synchronization algorithms and solutions. Subsequently, taking into account the characteristics of the devices, this paper presents a detailed time-domain synchronization solution and hardware block diagram. And also implement the time–domain synchronization solution on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) using Verilog Hardware Description Language. Finally, test the soft-core which has been implemented on FPGA to verify the correctness of the algorithm, while the actual hardware simulation results are given. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the actual Meascuring Receiver products.
