The Research On Integrated OMC Onto NMS With CORBA-based North-interface

In 2G, operator have to maintain multi-vendor telecom equipment. Because lack of Network Management Interface Specification to guild the vendor's OMC development, NMS have to learn the OMC's interface one by one for each vendor's equipment,and design diverse adaptor for every vendor. It's a hard job for NMS software devolopor, furthermore the NMS have only SELECT or CHECKING function, do not have management function.TMN being more and more Open,Distributed and Interoperable. Base these reasons, China Mobile choice CORBA-based technology in 3G network north-interface Specification.CORBA allows applications to communicate with one another no matter where they are located or what platform they are interoperated with or what programming language they are written in. In a multi-vendor environment,the CORBA-based north-interface can rapid response operator's demand.Corbatester is a tool for CORBA interface troubleshooting. It's a necessary tool for software developer or maintainer.TD-OMC is a fresh new sofeware, NMS also a newly developed software, and the north-interface pecification is not mature.So there have many jobs need to be done in commissioning between OMC and NMS.It drive the local engineer must understand secification first, and then by the CORBATester to do the troubleshooting. Then I distinguish who need take response for the problem.If the problem case by NMS, I need offer the evidence, and help NMS to fix it.There have two examples in the sections 6.2 and 6.3 about help NMS to fix problems. If the problem cause by OMC, I have to check whether there have any solutions, the section 6.4 give some demonstration on patch apply or software upgrade depend existing solutions.If local engineer cannot find the ways to fix problem in 2 hours,I should escalate the problem to product line. In studying the north-interface, I have fixed many problems in local and good feedback from customer. Because the securiy CORBA interface have not been implemented,there have potential danger in the management network, I expect to do more research on CORBA Security Service.
