Abstract/Summary:
Cell Search technique is a key technique in mobile telecommunication system for realizing the synchronization between the terminal and the base. As the basis of terminal getting information from base, the performance of Cell Search attaches large importance to the overall performance of the system. Provided that the correct result of Cell Search, we can carry out the normal communication between the terminal and the base.WCDMA is the widest used radio interface standard during the four international radio interface standards. Cell Search procedure is an important physical procedure in WCDMA communication.By right of strength in programmable capacity and advantage in development rate, Field Program Gate Array (FPGA) became one of the Application Specific Intergrated Circuit (ASIC) component that has the shortest development period, lowest development cost and least risk.Hence, there is practical significance to study the algorithm and implementation and verification of Cell Search by FPGA. During this paper, we introduce the basis of phycial layer first; And then, we describe the principle of Primary Synchronization, Secondary Synchronization and Piot Synchronization in detail; At the same time the method both in traditional and enhanced implementation are given out respectively, while the later is verified that is better than the former; Afterwards, we discuss the scheme, flow and interface design in achieving Cell Search process used FPGA chip Virtex-4-SX-35. Based on the above scheme, Modelsim sitmulation, FPGA implementation and verification have been processed. Results from stimulation and testing show that the enhanced method given out by this paper can be implemented with low complexity and resource cost, while satisfing the standard both in function and performance.
