But the handling capacity of current postal saving system is insufficient. The host and disk array that the database belonged to have already run for more than six years, so in the business peak, the usage rate of host CPU and disk I/O is very easy to run in 100% for a long time. If disk I/O runs at full capacity, then the database reading and writing will become more and more slowly, and the application services will become more and more crowded, thus the customer will wait more and more time. In addition, because the expansibility of disk array is insufficient, it has no enough free space for current database to support sustainable development of the postal savings services enduringly.This paper proceeds with the performance analysis of the current host and database, emphatically analyzing the necessity of database migration. Combining with the current situation and characteristic of the postal saving system, the paper analyses several difficult points of database migration.While choosing the technology of database migration, the paper has introduced and compared with three kinds of database migration technology in detail. According the characteristics of each technology and the actual conditions of postal saving system, choose Data Guard technology to migrate the database finally. While designing the database migration based on Data Guard technology, the paper researches the principle of Data Guard and deeply analyses the data synchronization between old database and new database. Then the paper designs every link of database migration, from disk array planning, data synchronization to migration verification, from internal test, preview to switch over formally. All steps have carried on the careful design.When implementation of database migration, the paper discusses how the key step of database migration to implement and key researches several problems. With analyzing these problems and finding the methods that solve the problems, the database migration of Jiangxi post system has finished satisfactorily.At last, the paper summarizes the design and implementation of database migration, and discusses the problem that the database no response while implementing. The paper has analyzed the possible reason for this problem and points out the direction that will be studied and explored in the future. |
