The fiber sensor technology is a completely new sensing technology coming along with the development of the fiber optic and optical fiber communication technology, and it plays an important role in industrial production and national defense. Because of its anti-electromagnetic interference, high accuracy, small volume and corrosion resistance, the fiber optic sensor technology has made great development and attracted more attentions. The fiber sensor system in this paper is based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer, and it can be used to detect the intrusion. The user interface of this system is composed by three parts:Data Analysis layer(DAL), Business Logic layer(BLL) and User Interface layer(UIL). This paper represents the Fiber Optical Sensing System (FOSS) based on the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, the FOSS can be used for intrusion detection, it is very useful for bank and petroleum transmission pipeline protection, so it has great market value.This paper first introduces the basic principle of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, gives a very detailed explanation of structure of FOSS, describes the main function of each module. The alarm control function of the FOSS is based on the 3-layer structures, which are Data Analysis layer, Business Logic layer and User Interface layer. This paper also introduces the design procedures of the fiber optical SoC(system on chip) software package, and proposes a high reliable UART protocol, and then explains the detailed design principle of each class, gives the descriptions of the function realization, which leads to a very changeable and portable programming design method. This paper also represents the implementation of the interaction of SQL server and UI information, along with the design principle of the data table of the system, as well as the brief introduction of the system development environment VS2005 (C#), SQL Server 2005.
