In the rapid development of optical communication technology, the Fiber Optic Sensor technology has made tremendous development. More and more attentions are focused on it because of the advantages of anti-electromagnetic interference, high accuracy, small volume and corrosion resistance. They are especially applicable in large security protection systems' nondestructive monitoring. The Fiber Optic Sensor system studied in this paper is based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer, and is used to detect the intrusion, monitor the pipes and roads that need to be protected. The study plays an important role in the utilization of Fiber Optic Sensor.In this paper, the basic theory of Fiber Optic Senor is demonstrated and the positioning function is illuminated by formulas. The specific structure of Fiber Optic Senor System and the function of each module are explained explicitly. The tables' relationships in the database are introduced. The controls of the devices, such as SCM on Optical-to-Electronic Conversion Board, GSM Modem and High Speed Data Acquisition Card, are realized by using VS 2005(C#) and SQL Server 2005, according to Three Layers Architecture of Data Access Layer (DAL), Business Logic Layer (BLL) and User Interface Layer (UIL).The detailed design and implementation of each class, its member variables and member functions are demonstrated. In this paper, Microsoft ADO.NET technology is used in DAL to extract the data from database according to user's requirements, and the data will be processed in BLL. The result of the process will be presented in UIL and the user's setting information and input data will be processed in BLL, and then saved into database. The whole process above is illuminated explicitly, and the software design and implementation of Fiber Optic Sensor system is thus completed.
