The market for subscription to Guangzhou newspapers is one of the most competitive markets in our country. The three major newspaper groups, Guangzhou Daily, Guangzhou Evening News and Southern Metropolis Daily, separately occupy the market share of the subscription to newspapers of different kinds in the city. Faced with the strong competitors, Guangzhou Post becomes obsolete in subscription management. As a result, the opportunity of its newspaper distribution business is becoming smaller and smaller.In recent years, with the development of mail and newspaper business as well as postal service, the higher requirement for delivery network is wanted. But it is difficult to measure the delivery distance, which limits the carrying-out of further planning a delivery range.To solve this problem, we, in this text, put forward the use of geographic information systems (GIS), together with the existing information systems and resources from Guangzhou Post to build up the visual management system of delivery operation resources. Through this system, you can accurately measure the distance between each section as well as service area by clicking a mouse. Open the map and you will know the location of your subdivisions and about the resources of different departments. Then click a department on the map and you will know about the business of the department and its competitors in this region.In the text, we elaborate on the design and implementation of systems. Having given a brief analysis of the requirements, we put forward a goal of building up systems and a mode of operation and conduct a technical selection and structural design of the system in accordance with the requirement of the project. To unify the style of systems, decrease the difficulty of development and reduce the workload of development, we have come up with a design for generic type DAO, base control and web mode. Then we make a careful design and implementation for four typical functions-system interfaces, resource statistics, trip-line monitoring and subscription ratio statistics. Finally, we give a comprehensive summary of the work, showing the results we have got, and pointing out shortcomings and the way of improvement.
