The mobile market is growing rapidly in recent years. The Third Generation mobile network has been adopted by more than 110 countries. Researchers have begun developing B3G/4G wireless systems to to satisfy people's demands. The new B3G/4G wireless network is more revolutionary than evolutionary. It supports new modulation coding schemes, OFDM technology, and advanced MIMO systems. In this thesis we will discuss the theory of MIMO and the scheduling algorithms related to it.The first chapter will introduce the history and the current development status of the mobile communication systems. We will use the LTE system as an example of B3G systems. The architecture of LTE systems will be introduced later. In the end, we will introduce the scheduling algorithms for wireless communication systems. The second chapter will review some basic theories and applied algorithms of MIMO systems. Then we will introduce some common scheduling algorithms used in multiple carriers and multiple antenna systems. The third chapter will give the evaluation methodology used in this simulation. The framework of the methodology will be given first. Each component will be introduced later. In chapter four we will show you the result of simulation. The result is made up two parts. The first part is performance evaluation, and the second part is fairness evaluation.
