Due to the limited bandwidth resources, it's necessary to recur to radio resource management for more high-speed data transmission, steady QoS guarantee and various kinds of services. To design good packet scheduling algorithms can optimise the utilization of wireless network resources. This paper discusses in depth the scheduling algorithms in LTE-A system. Firstly, this article introduces the significance of the studies, then it analyses the current research situation both at home and abroad.Chapter 2 introduces the LTE-A system level simulation platform based on C plus plus language used in this paper. This platform is designed and constructed based on drop methodology, which conforms to the ITU-R M.2135 of IMT-Advanced's. It consists of several modules including cell generation and parameters configuration, user module initialization, wireless channel initialization and update, modulation/coding selection(MCS), user scheduling and performance statistics stc. Our works mainly focus on mobile module and user scheduling module.Chapter 3 mainly researchs packet scheduling algorithms in LTE-A system. Then it introduces a multicell joint scheduling algorithm in LTE-A system based on proportional fair algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, the system is divided into clusters, and the users with larger small scale fading are selected in given proportion in each cell. And joint scheduling is then performed to optimize the given objective. Compared with traditional proportional fair algorithm of 3G and LTE system's single cell, the multicell joint scheduling algorithm fully considered the inter-cell interference, and improved both the cell spectral efficiency and cell edge user spectral efficiency.Chapter 4 introduces the theoretical framework of the optimization problem based on the utility functions. Related algorithms based on the theoretical framework use utility functions to build a bridge between the physical layer and the media access control (MAC) layer. The simulation results show related algorithms can improve the system performance and guarantee fairness very well.
