In recent years, the rapid development of communication technology, rapid growth of Internet users, the rapid expansion of a variety of Internet business needs, have increased the pressure to the operator to expand the backbone network bandwidth, have demand to improve the reliability of optical networks. All along, the services of communications networks are all of great concern to operators.Networks need a reliable and efficient protection system to enhance its quality of services. It is very necessary to design an optical network self-healing system. So optical network auto switching protection system came into being.Optical fiber auto switching protection system that is applied to optical network can automatically identify the primary and backup optical signal state. When the primary optical fiber is blocked, backup line will be switched to instantaneously. Make sure cable lines run smoothly. Optical fiber auto switching protection system is the protection of the physical layer. Compared with other protection techniques, it has the advantages that rapidly optical path restoration and low cost. The main content of this paper is network-based remote online monitoring system that monitors the control and cell disks.Network monitoring system is divided into two parts of the client and server. The client connects to the control disks through the server, monitor every optic fiber line, store alarm, circuit switching or other information and primary and perform backup optical fiber switching. The network monitoring system is designed and compared with in two models of Client/Server and Browser/Server. Last, an improvement program will be proposed.
