With the Electronic Product Code (EPC), as well as the concept of"Internet of Things"put forward, the impact of RFID on people's lives is also growing. EPC gives each product a unique identity. EPC standard system proposed, making a large-scale application of RFID in open conditions have. On this basis, combined with the Internet, build a huge amount of Internet of Things among the items, goods and people. So, the Internet of Things will be the most important technology revolution following the Internet, and they will bring a complete revolution in the supply chain, and will enable E-commerce carried out actually, and will affect all aspects of economic and social life profoundly. We are attached to each product with a RFID tag with unique ID, so we can identify the product through the tag ID. In addition, we also need RFID reader to acquire tag information which product information included. Along with the development of Internet of Things, more and more diversified RFID reader demands are also increasingly diversified. To this end, we designed this Linux-based intelligent RFID reader. In this paper, firstly, we introduce the basic situation of RFID development and the program design is based on the development tread. The system is designed to determine the adoption of compatible of ISO18000-6 Type B and Type C, and based on Linux. At the same time the system scheme is studied in details, including the key technologies the system involved. On this basis, the paper introduced the data modulation and encoding involved by ISO18000-6 Type B and Type C communication protocols, and tag collision arbitration mechanism under two kinds of communication protocol. At the same time, the system hardware components are introduced in this paper. After careful comparison and riddling among several system design schemes, the ATMEL's AT91SAM9261 is used as the main processor. According to the requirements of the system, the system is composed of three parts. The main control module is responsible for the procession of tag's information, storage or transmission of data. The RF module is responsible for completing high-frequency digital signal to analog signal conversion and communication with RF chip. And finally the peripheral interface module, which is responsible for communications or data storage with host computer. And the design of corresponding module circuit was completed. The embedded Linux operating system is used as platform software to achieve intelligent systems to facilitate the design of system software design and system upgrades. In this paper, Embedded Linux architecture is analyzed in details. Memory management, process scheduling, interrupt mechanism, the system calls mechanism and the device driver are thoroughly explored. The establishment of cross-compiler environment, Bootloader and the porting of kernel are studied in detail. The Bootloader codes and the analysis of the Linux kernel boot are presented, which effectively solved technical difficulties in the porting of the Linux based on the AT91SAM9261, while achieving some device driver.
