Through a long process of development, the library has gone thorugh anexperience that from manual to automation, and from automation to the network andthen to the digital as an integral part of social cultural. The contradiction betweendocument management and documentation services was triggered by the rapidlygrowing volume of literature and all open reading and lending pattern. Theintroduction and application of RFID technology has brought opportunities andchallenges to the library's development, and also given more creative space. This article first introduces the development and history of Library managementsystem and the RFID technology at home and abroad. Then it analyses the applicationand technical advantages of RFID technology in the field of library management. Onbases of all that preparatory work, a library management system based on RFIDtechnology is developed according to the library management process. The maindevelopment process is as follows: Firstly, analyses the requirements of the librarysystem based on library management process. Secondly, make the scheme design ofthe system. The whole system includes 4 modules which are borrowing and lendingmanagement module, catalog maintenance module, reader management module, andbook searching module. Finally develop the library system using SQLServer2005 andVisual C# 2008. The system is based on C/S mode and LAN of library. The type ofRFID controller is RR9001T which based on ISO/IEC15693 protocol. RFIDcontroller transmits the information of readers and books to computer throughRS232C. And then the information is compared with database.
