With the coming of big data era, data arching has become more and more importantfor enterprise, and choosing the appropriate storage device is the key point of it.As a massstorage device, the optical jukebox library has developed so quickly in recent years. Inorder to reduce the cost, using the cheaper optical offline library to store huge amount ofdisc and designing a disc box management system for it is quite necessary.By the analysis of the architecture of the optical archive system, the functions thatoffline library should achieve have been explicit, making advantage of the RadioFrequency Identification to the location management of disc box, and equipping each gridin offline library with a Radio Frequency Identification read/write device which isconnected to the controller of offline library by USB expend, so that the offline librarycan get the location information of local disc boxes, and send the information to theoptical jukebox library. For the sake of such goals above, divided the system into twoparts, the C/S system and B/S system. The C/S system is mainly responsible for themanagement of disc box real-time location information, The B/S system built on theoptical jukebox library provides a simple and easy function of offline management foradministrator by webpage. The test results shows that this disc box management system can basically completethe intelligent management of disc box, and can deal with the unexpected outage situation. In short, it has achieved the expectations.
