With the development of network transmit technologies, and the increment onthe size of network due to the sharp increment of network traffic, transport networkis divided into domains. In transport network, traffic always has strict requirementson the quality of services, so that transport network is required to control traffic in thenetwork efficiently. Traffic Engineering (TE) is always viewed as the first preferencefor the traffic control in transport network, however, it requires complex control andmanagement techniques. It is more difficult to support efficient TE in multi-domaintransport network, where the boundary of the domain would significantly limit theexchange of TE information from different domain and impair the efficiency of theTE in transport network. Current solutions have many disadvantages in supportingmulti-domain TE. Due to its nature of path-vector protocol, the most common BorderGateway Protocol provides restricted supports to inter-domain TE. And the link-statebased inter-domain TE suffers from its severe scalability problems. In order to solvethis problem, this work studies the scalable TE in multi-domain network, and proposesthe Scalable Inter-Domain Link-State routing framework, and Partial Link based Mon-itoring and Advertising as its supporting technique. Besides these, in order to validateand evaluate the performance of different technologies in TE for multi-domain trans-port network, we also design and implement the validation platform for the large scalemulti-domain transport network. The simulation shows that the proposed frameworkhas outstanding performance in inter-domain TE, and is also very scalable.
