With the development of Heterogeneous Wireless Networks (HWNs) technology, users canenjoy various services. But this leads to change of business model and trust relationships.substantial number of service suppliers enter into the uniform market, they cooperate and rivalizewith each other, and it is very difficult to evaluate the reliability of service suppliers.. ThereforeHWNs face more security threatens than traditional mobile wireless networks. Based on deeplyanalysis of security requirements of inter-domain networks, this thesis designs two inter-domainsecurity authentication mechanisms applied to HWNs. Main contents are outlined as follows:1. To resolve the problem that the server domain is not being authenticated during theauthentication..a full bidirectional EAP-AKA (FB-EAP-AKA) mechanism is proposed. Thismechanism is able to actualize bidirectional among MN, service domain and host domain, without addition of protocol message. What抯 more, the FB-EAP-AKA mechanism encryptsuser抯 identifier by public Key, to protect the identity information from leaking out. The securityof authentication is discussed in detail.2. To prevent the unbelievable behaviors among different management domains during theinter-domain vertical handoff, a trust based inter-domain handoff mechanism (TBIDH) is putforward. With the judgment of trustworthiness, TBIDH enhances the security of handoff, andimproves the handoff efficiency based on secure context transfer. The formal analysis with GNYlogic proves that the mechanism can finish vertical handoff in security.3. An experimental system based on EAP-AKA protocol is carried out, and the test on thetwo inter-domain authentication mechanisms above is taken based on this system. The testingresult shows that FB-EAP-AKA mechanism enhances the authentication security withoutincreasing delay obviously, while TBIDH mechanisms improve the handoff efficiency obviouslywhen mobile nodes make handoff frequently away from home networks...
