The trace control of the balance between hydraulic and oil pressure in steel pipe hydrostatic test is discussed and studied in this paper. Based on PLC, industrial control computer and touch screen, a set of supervisory computer control system for steel-testing machine with water hydraulic is designed. This system has some functions and features, such as PLC control and electro hydraulic proportional control techniques, a well visual man-machine interface, it can bring the dynamic response to the changed pressure and press time of press testing, and judge whether the pipe is conformity, also stock each pipe press curve press time and the record of conformity or nonconformity. It can supply search and quality track at random. This paper's main content is as follows:First to introduce the situation at present and part structure function of hydrostatic testing, and it put forward automatic control theory and project design of hydrostatic testing. The project of hydrostatic testing include the water system project design of hydraulic control system and the project design of supervisory control software system.Next calculated the parameter of hydrostatic testing includes steel pipe water pressure energy, the hydraulic cylinder oil value calculation of hydrostatic testing. Then analyze the characteristic of hydraulic proportional valve. A variable-structure PID control and non-linear control algorithm are used to implement the trace control.The automatic control system of hydrostatic testing include VB-based the control process picture organization and the form of store record and the curve and the query means of record, STEP7 programming. The program can keep the dynamic balance of the water and the hydraulic control system. Design free-port communication between Siemens PLC and IPC.The oil water balance control system is illustrated in evidence the visual supervisory control software system VB-based and STEP7 is able to satisfy the demand for pressure testing of hydrostatic testing, The spot equipment can be supervised and controlled by host computer through free-port communication, So strong point of PLC and IPC can be fully utilized, and it has certain application value for projects. it can availably utilize the locality source and theories on hand. The design result conforms to practical locality condition. The successful design can satisfy the market require of steel pipe test equipment.
