Internet of Things has been slowly integrated into our daily life, the so-called Internet of Things means that the various information sensing devices combined with the Internet witch formed a huge network, it exchangs information and communicates to realize intelligent identification, location, tracking and monitoring and management. Based on this status, this paper tries to simulate the getway of smart home systems to study Internet of Things deeply.Based on previous's research this paper gets advanced embedded technology, bus technology, network technology, wireless transmission technology together,and proposed a embadded gateway design scheme which is base on RS-485 bus and CAN bus. Through communication among RS-485 bus interface, CAN bus interface, ethernet interface and GPRS, this design can achieve the mutual conversion of different interface data,and then control and monitor the device on bus node.First this paper analyzed the Internet of Things'current status of domestic and international and it's future development direction,described the hardware and software platforms, and designned programs,described hardware structure and software design.This gateway uses UP-NETARM2410-S embedded developing platform as the hardware platform, the embedded Linux operating system as the software platform,whose kernal used Linux2.4.18. Drivers contain RS-485 interface driver, CAN interface driver,GPRS interface driver and etheric driver.The main programming of getway is cross-compiled by arm-linux-gcc cross-compiler and then upload the executable files to UP-NETARM2410-S, the client programming using VC 6.0 as the programming environment, using UDP protocol data network transmission.Users could control and monitor the nod device on the bus from internet client and mobile phone by this system.
